Hello I am looking for a kayak store that offers demo paddling for fold-up kayaks -- Klepper, Feathercraft, or others -- that is located in Ontario (Canada). Most places appear to only offer the plastic and fiberglass ones. Does such a place exist? Where? I doubt that such one-stop place exists. Normally store can demo only those folders that they sell. Folders are made to order, and stores don't carry them in numbers. FC factory will provide a list of their dealers, and I am sure that there are some in Ontario. Klepper has a dealership in Calgary AB, - don't know about ON. Folbot used to have a dealer in Montreal (they were also selling some other folders), small family business, and they've closed the business a while ago. Longhaul doesn't have any dealers that I am aware of. Fujita has a dealer in Colorado with some rental or demo program (check www.fujitana.com). You have better chances to see and try different fodlers at one of those annual "kayak symposiums" and similar events that take place couple times a year on either coast of Canada and US. Or ask at the forum at www.foldingkayaks.org about partucular model if you already have such a model in mind, and may be there would be some friendly owner in your neigborhood. There is no need to test-drive FC, if you are within the average range of height and shoe size. They behave almost like hardshells of similar dimensions, and the cockpit rim is very similar to those of large-cockpit plastic and composite kayaks like Seaward Tyee. > I am looking for a kayak store that offers demo > paddling for fold-up kayaks -- Klepper, Feathercraft, > or others -- that is located in Ontario (Canada). > Most places appear to only offer the plastic and > fiberglass ones.
