I spoke with a nice brunette yesterday in the hardware store parking lot; she had a nice yak. On the stern, she had tied on an approximately 1 foot length of braided line, through the toggle, as an extension of the toggle for holding onto the kayak in the surf. The short line had a big knot at the end. Everything, including the "knot" was done to professional sailing standards. I think Doug Alderson has a sample of this in one of his books. Not sure if Gordin Warner got anywhere with his toggle misfortune investigation, but this brunette I bumped into was way ahead of the game.
