I got a brand new NRS catalog in the mail last evening and noticed
something I'd never seen before - a cag styled to also function as a
cover over the sprayskirt. Interesting concept. It's a "one size fits
all", so no doubt too long for me to walk in it; and I wonder if it
would truly fit some of the larger folk out there.

One of the weird Girl Scout laws I don't quite understand is that
ponchos are NOT allowed for our canoeists. My guess is they are a
problem when they billow out in the wind, making it difficult to paddle
and sure to get the poncho in the water and add to the general mess of
wet weather paddling. There must be some middle ground out there
somewhere.
