One doesn't need to be very careless to kill someone while at sea. Open Water 2: Adrift is supposedly based on real events (where all died), where all jump off the boat (one thrown in), and too late find that the bath ladder isn't extended. In the real world they all died, here .... I'm not telling! The first Open Water was fantastic, very amateur in every way, but this is a fairly big production, but not too great as films go. But accidents, if we call it that, where everyone on board ends up in the water isn't too uncommon - and the end is usually tragic. Lifelines sure would help, but big freeboards can be tricky!
