I think $125 is steep, but I wouldn't mind if I thought that's what it takes to maintain the park system. Instead, I think most of that money goes to fund a lot of other things that have nothing to do with recreation. On Thursday, although the beach was crowded, there were only a few boards in the kayak area. Quite a few boarders were bunched up right at the dividing line, so it seems some try to let us have our little niche. I agree the waves are very friendly to us newcomers to kayak surfing. I can't imagine getting hurt in the waves I've seen out there. I have heard it can get pretty gnarly at times. Maybe Geoff will share some of his secret surfing spots with us new guys!
