How long should a well-cared-for plastic boat last before it is functionally unsafe for use? What is a reasonable lifespan expectation? Derek I have a Perception Sabre, an old school whitewater boat, that I bought new in 1985. I have always stored it in my garage and always tie it to the roof rack rightside up to protect, as much as possible, the hull from the sun. I still use the boat and it still floats.
