Pam - : Walking into the water while holding the neck gasket open a bit does work. Watch out for that one small wave that makes its in. Another option is scrunching down and squeezing the air out. My personal preference is a group hug, doesn't work quite as well but it's a lot more enjoyable. You can always do the water entry later. I would be willing to bet you are not burping well enough. I've had this problem when I burped with my neoprene spray skirt on. Now I burp first and then put on the spray deck. I agree with getting into the water and burping and getting water up to your shoulders. Give it a try and let us know if it works. regards sid ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). [snip] So any of the other ladies out there have this problem? > Any suggestions? (and yes, I am on a weight loss program). Get a sit on top kayak. Get a kayak with a wider cockpit. Get a wetsuit or a different dry suit that doesn't have the problem. Check to see exactly what is hanging up the zipper as you are trying to exit (and just where it is hanging up). If you can, modify that so it won't happen. For instance, if the zipper is catching on the bottom of the coaming edge where the seat is bolted behind it, then maybe try bolting the seat on the inside rather than the outside of the hanger. Learn to twist your hips to one side, making them narrower, before trying to lift/drop yourself out of the cockpit. If the zipper on one side allows this hip rotation and the other side hangs up, learn to always rotate the same way. Otherwise, I hope you are enjoying your Sprite.
