Yesterday we went to visit the local sailing canoe & sea kayak club, GKF, or Gvteborg Kanot Fvrening (literally: Gothenburg Canoe Union), as it was blowing 48 knots the very day when we had planned to do some sailing on our own. So why not go visiting?! The club was founded in 1914, when parts of the club house, in the background, was built. The only connection the club has to folding kayaks is that a few of the members use folding kayaks - we even met a guy fussing with his Feathercraft Kahuna :-)! Sadly I have very little info about any of the canoes, but we saw C, IC, D and E kanoter, and a few grand looking canoe yawls! One or two had wing masts, most had very traditional, wooden rigs! Hope to join the club soon! All the best!
