Tony, that last sentence is what I would have thought before checking out the debriefing video referred to in my posting. I came away with respect for those folks and humility about my own talents. They do play it a little closer to the edge than most of us do, but they also understand the risks pretty well. They got nailed, partly by the conditions, and partly by the mindset of their way of tackling paddling.
