Paddlewisers, It was a great weekend at the Traditional Arctic Kayak Symposium (TAKS) in California. Before the race, one of the racers (BCU type) asked to use his Euro blade paddle. The organizer said no Euros in the race. I jumped in and said that we can't ban Euros from the race and claim traditional paddles are better. The Euro was allowed to race. Because I was somewhere out front, I didn't see it, but I heard that by the time the Euro got through the surf, he was so far behind, he dropped out and turned back to the beach. Not scientific, but a good story. Anyway, I have a photo journal of TAKS at the link below.
