One of the great things about this list is checking out all the different
links provided by people. You're always sure to come across great
information and photos.

I have to admit though I was surprised to see this photo posted on the
Ringwood Canoe Club site--an affiliation of the BCU dedicated to safe
paddling!!

Showing a WW paddler without the proper safety equipment seems
irresponsible. I can only assume it is the incongruity of the unprotected
paddler in a challenging environment that makes the photo so mesmerizing.

At least the other paddler shows the proper surprise at seeing the
unprotected paddler.

If I ever find paddlers flaunting the lack of proper gear like this, I
assure you I'm going to have a long talk with them!!

I can only imagine the form that talk would take. And the line of other
safety-conscious kayakers you'd have to work through. However, wouldn't that
person qualify as wearing a "Mae West" type of PFD?
