I have to admit though I was surprised to see this photo posted on the Ringwood Canoe Club site--an affiliation of the BCU dedicated to safe paddling!! Showing a WW paddler without the proper safety equipment seems irresponsible. I can only assume it is the incongruity of the unprotected paddler in a challenging environment that makes the photo so mesmerizing.
