Mark, Well done! This picture shows you paddling right up the face of the wave. Often kayakers quit paddling just before the wave hits them, which costs them much of the forward momentum needed to make it over or through the wave. I keep paddling even after I'm airborne while coming down on the other side of the wave. This doesn't soften my landings, but I think the gyroscopic action helps to keep me upright ;-) Patrick ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Sanders" <sandmarks_at_ca.rr.com> To: "CKF" <ckf_at_paddlewise.net> Cc: "PaddleWise" <paddlewise_at_paddlewise.net> Sent: Sunday, November 04, 2007 11:47 AM Subject: CKF: Me in a Wave > Wolfgang Brink took a photo of me playing at TAKS in what I figure must > have > been my biggest wave of the day.
