Freya Hoffmeister is currently circumnavigating New Zealand's South Island. I
have been following her blog on her web site. www.kayakunderground.com
Her report today (texted in) reads: Waikouaiti 85km 13hrs grey drizzly chilly
day but good paddle.

85 km ! Good grief that is 52 miles in 13 hours That is a fraction over 4
mph! She would quickly leave me in her wake. I am not sure even if I grabbed
her cape I could hold on for 13 hours.

I think I will stick to my 15 mile per day "low and enjoy the scenery"
trips.
On second though the wind just shook my house. I think I will be staying home
tomorrow (35mph winds predicted)

When in doubt paddle hard!

Bob
