A "friend" of mine mentioned to me the other day, that he couldn't understand why other people paddled with me. After watching the news earlier this week, he asked if the ship that sank in the Antarctic, The Explorer (also known as The Little Red Ship") was one I had been on. When I answered yes, he asked if the 4 masted sailing vessel Fantome, that used to be part of the Windjammer fleet in the Caribbean until it sank during a hurricane a few years ago, was also one that I had sailed on. When I again answered in the affirmative, he was utterly shocked that I'd actually go out to see in a kayak. And he was even more astounded to learn that others go with me. After all, you weren't on those ships when they went down. :-) That said, you may indeed "be bad luck" for marine vessels (as opposed to "having bad luck"). Perhaps this just means that you should never let anyone else paddle your kayak, as *they* may sink in a boat you've been in. -- Melissa *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). I wonder if he has a list of vessels he's been on. If it wasn't Steve's, I'm sure there would be lots of people lining up to get this otherwise fine boat! ;-) -- Melissa *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). There is an email on the way there now and with luck I can make a deal on a kayak no one else would touch. :P Craig Jungers More or Less in Moses Lake, WA *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). My question: Is it safe to paddle on a body of water that has already been paddled by Steve? Guess I have to take my chances. Bradford R. Crain (Not in Moses Lake, Wa.)
