The discussion of various techniques and equipment that could be a help to a handicapped paddler finally brought to mind the products of Guy Light who equips many varieties of kayaks with electric (trolling) motors. I had the opportunity to accompany a good friend on a multi-day kayak camping trip in his tandem kayak that was equipped with one of these electric propulsion units and it was a pleasure to sit back and let the motor do the work occasionally. A boat so equipped might be a boon to a lot of folks, particularly on a long trip.
