This double bungee approach sounds very useful but I didn't completely follow how the double bungee was fitted. Can you desacribe it a bit further?

Re cable ties, sounds like a very neat solution. Might be worth noting that some of them come with a metal insert that can corrode, others are made of a single plastic mold. Dave, am I right in guessing you were using the single plastic mould?
