I wouldn't use any line that occasionally tangles in my paddle when I try to roll. When you really need a roll, something that tangles can become a life or death decision. I'd encourage you to consider why you really need a bow line. I've been paddling for several years from conditions as benign as lakes to dynamic as the open ocean of the Oregon coast and have never found the need for a bow line, (or stern line!) OK, for the benefit of the ignorant, would you define bow line? I thought you were speaking of a perimeter line, but I can't see how you could entangle the paddle with most setups I've seen as the perimeter lines are tight (too tight!) to the deck. In fact, it's often difficult to get a finger under the lines. What's a bow line and what do you do with it? Pam in Washington State **************Need a new ride?
