   I have to agree with Tord on the stove issue. Our group camp stove,
a Coleman, can be finicky to light, and once became engulfed in large
flames. It did survive, but now I carry two MSR stoves with me as backup,
or in case we run out of burners.
   Another item I have found essential is spare tent poles (yes, plural).
My tent poles have split or broken at least five times. I believe firmly
they have a built in flaw, since they were never abused or exposed to
high winds.
