We had our first Kayak-Polo competition in Queritaro today. Seems like this will become a very popular sport. We had 12 competitors. As first timers we placed our own simple rules. Three players per side in equal kayaks. All Delfin. 4 groups of three contestants. Two 10 minute periods with 5 minutes rest. Exhausting exercise. It was a lot of fun. I was lucky to be among the winning team. Teams were chosen at random. Ball could be kept no more than 10 seconds. It could be passed by hand or with the paddle, not very easy. We started very politely and ended up pushing, pulling, knocking on the other kayak, etc. Nobody capsized in the 80 minutes competition. We still lack malice. Well continue to practice since it gives you a lot of boat control and strengthens the muscles needed for waves and ww handling. A guy was hit with the boat bow on his back and he is still sore, so we need to check on safety, protections, and rules to avoid accidents. Well check on competition rules and try to play by them so that eventually well be able to compete elsewhere. It was a fun day.
