Paddlers -
For years i stored three touring kayaks in commercialy made and available nylon strap designed to store kayaks. i used a "hook bolt" placed into a verticle stud in the garage wall for each strap. Measure and measure again so the straps hang at an appropriate distance between each other to hold your kayaks. My kayaks were of three different lengths. [Now measure again].
i purchased my straps from a local kayak outfitter/dealer.
Wall attachement was secure and works well.

-- I may have misdescribed that a little: The webbing was not looped around the
kayak at the ends, but a foot or three in, where the chines were relatively
flat. So the webbing won't slide off the end of the boat, and I think it
would have been a stronger aspect of the boat. Being against a wall would help
keep the boat from flexing in the wrong directions, too...

     That's not possible.
