I heard the coast guard was out in force yesterday in my backyard. It wasn't us, we were on a river. I'll check around. We heard the chopper was at treetop level and around for some time. The article in the (Tacoma) News Tribune says (paraphrased) The crew of the Coast Guard cutter Adelie rescued two of eight kayakers from the water. The other six were able to make it to shore safely. This was at Carr Inlet near Gig Harbor. Wind gusts of 40 MPH blew tree limbs into power lines and knocked out pawer. The Coast Guard received reports of boats going adrift and overturning and boaters being blown into the water throughout the region. Anyone have any idea of who was involved and what happened? Sounds as if it turned out OK. Pam in WA State **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Dining, Movies, Events, News & more. Try it out!
