Well the newspaper referred to it as a 40 foot rock formation off of Brighton Rd. in Newport, but I know it as Big Arch Rock! Turns out a pescador took his 3 year old fishing with a few relatives. None of them could swim. He decided to climb up BAR, so he tied a rope to his 3 year old to haul him up to the top. Of course, no good father would make a 3 year old climb up himself!! When one of the relatives fell into the water, the father ran to go get help leaving the 3 year old asleep up on top all alone! Sheriff deputies quickly arrived and saved the man in the water and firefighters rescued the 3 year old. Daddy got a ride to the pokey for child endangerment.
