The video is a bit long (all pictures) for a "routine" crossing many of us
in Victoria have done but, nevertheless an interesting video,,,

October has actually been fantastically beautiful with warm sunshine,
magnificent fall colours, and intense lighting brightening that incredible
fall foliage. I didn't get out at all paddling - working too much to pay
bills (portfolio went south as did the housing market, but lots of work
still - G/Bless Canada, heh, heh). I think it was last week we had one of
those fantastical days with Jordan River running almost 17 seconds at 12
feet, all glassy swell with loooooong, tall breaks. Alternatively, September
was WILD with huge storms and seas and wind while Sean Morley did his
circumnavigation of Vancouver Island in record time (albeit with a new
understanding of risk-management). I was sad I didn't make it up to Cape
Scott - it is not often you get 27 foot swell, 65 knot winds up there when
it is still warm, lots of daylight, and all the access roads are snow-free
and still in summer condition. That would have been some good photo ops of
the seascape. Ah welll...
