If you succeed I'd be keen to hear more about it and try it myself. Would you be setting up the kayak in a side car arrangement or towing it behind. The latter would be a very long tow but possibly you only need go short distances. The issue with being able to pull the load could be dealt with by fitting a front wheel hub drive 200Watt geared brushless electric motor powered by a lithium manganese oxide battery. These are available as kits and can be easily fitted to most bikes that have steel forks. The quality of such kits and ebikes and batteries is quite variable but the good ones work brilliantly. When I last checked the additional GHG from using a battery powered bike was less than the GHG from the additional food consumption needed by a cyclist following an adequate diet. So no need to feel too worried about the electric motor and it will help reduce stress on knees. So far I've only considered carrying a folding boat pack on my bike - inspired by a visit to Ralph Diaz at the NY kayak boat house on the Hudson river. A fellow turned up on a bike with a folding kayak, assembled the boat then disassembled the folding bike and stowed it in the boat. He had to put the wheel in a pack on the back deck making it look a bit like the star ship enterprise!
