It is somewhat similar to the one used on Feathercraft Klondike - larger Klepper-style spraydeck with a smaller opening and sewn-in semi-rigid rim, on which rim you put a hardshell-style skirt on. 2) I think you can put an FC seasock on as well (before the skirt), so - Step # 2 would be getting (and possibly - alterating) FC seasock. I saw LH Expedition system, the rim looked smaller than FC K1, but I can't say which FC seasock is the best fit - could be FC Kahuna (not a Big Kahuna!), or FC K2, or FC Klondike, or FC Wisper, or FC K-light. Also, I can't say whether you should get FC seasock made for pre-2006 models (fiberglas cockpit rim), or post-2006 models (sewn-in semi-rigid rim, similar to LH Expedition spraydeck rim). It is possible that you'll have to do minor alterations to the sock, because none of them will be a perfect fit (cut out the wedge in fabric, or add the wedge in - similar to alterations done to women's skirts, I guess). FC socks are now Urethane-covered (so Aquaseal glue can be used), but you better ask them. FC sock costs about CAN$130, and LH Expedition system - probably more. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
