"My son was a pre-me so I took a child CPR course. Ten yrs later I had to use the info I learned to save a small child from choking on a piece of candy. I was amazed what a difference a little training made that day." I can't remember how many CPR classes I have taken but it started back in High School in 1980ish. BUT even with all of the classes its really not a lot of time "training". When our oldest child was starting to eat solid foods she choked. Classic symptoms where she raised both hands to her thoat and her eyes went big. I jumped over the couch that was between me and the high chair, pulled my kid out of that chair, put her face down on my arm and hit her in the small of the back per training. Food popped out. Kid was happy and acting like nothing had happened. Put her back in the high chair and she continued eating. This took all of a couple of seconds. :-) The wife was sitting at the table with this dazed look on her face because it had happened so fast. :-) Training does work. Even when not a lot of time was spent training :-) Later, Dan *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
