We've all had close calls with powerboats and jetskis/PWC's, I suspect.
I've even been buzzed by a large sailboat. However, one incident in
Desolation Sound remains vivid to this day. A 21 foot powerboat tracked
me down in broad daylight, and the occupants gave me a tuna sandwich
and can of pop. Sorry about that, Dolphins.

Out of character. Boaters always offer a can of beer. Brad, your story
doesn't ring true.

I think it must have been pop. My Mom doesn't let me have beer
(or drink and drive).

Around here, the dialog goes like this:

"Hey, kin you make thet thing go down around an' come back up agin?"
"It'll cost you a beer to find out."
"Bubba, grab me a beer outta the cooler for the kayak feller."

Unfortunately, it's usually Budweiser. :(

Brad's Mum goes kayaking with him because most of her age group
competitors have either succumbed or else retired to various nursing
homes. She considered staying home to watch fascinating daytime TV,
but she feared Oprah would become the new Senator from Illinois. Sometimes
she leaves her kayak at home, and just swims along Brad in her wetsuit.
