I just spread the bag over the opening and it makes for a perfect seat. My wife's kayaks hatches are better suited for this, so I use hers. She has a Wilderness Tempest 165. I may have to become a restroom mogul if the economy ever picks up. My kayak trip to Catalina last year was my first experience using a Wag Bag, and I have to say I prefer that system to most of the outhouses I've seen camping. I remember the outhouse down in the Havasupai Reservation was so disgusting, I would have hiked a mile to use a Wag Bag somewhere private!
