Dave, there are several members of the West Coast Paddlers who live and
paddle in the interior of BC. Some of the lakes are huge but I'm not sure of
the access or facilities myself. But it's likely you'll get more responses
to your query in their "community" forums.

I enjoy the same lack of mobility, myself. But you might be surprised at
your capability when it comes to the Bowrons. If you paddle in the
"traditional" direction then, yes, you probably cannot do it without help.
Long portages right from the get-go. But if you go opposite the flow
(counterclockwise as opposed to clockwise) you'll find the portages short
and pretty easy (especially if you have wheels and paddle with a partner).
This would probably mean paddling halfway (to the cabins on the river) and
then turning around and paddling back. But it's still a worthwhile trip.
