There's a videographer from Mooloolaba Australia who recently filmed a downwind surf ski/ OC1 race. He's an OC-1 paddler so he understands what he's filming. His video of Clint Robinson is the best video that I've seen of what it's like to paddle a surf ski or OC-1 in downwind conditions. http://www.surfski.info/content/view/971/147/ The videographer goes by the name Rambo. He's assembling a great collection of videos. He's also doing some interesting work with the cameras, including cameras mounted on the paddlecraft, where he has a joystick control in an adjacent boat controlling what he's filming. He's also built a gyroscopic balanced video unit so he can film from a support boat. Rambo's site is http://rambos-locker.blogspot.com/ There's some real interesting stuff there... -- Kirk Olsen *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Wow, he really make moving fast look fun. I've never been real interested in surf skis, but he makes them look fun. And as an added plus, he's probably out pacing all the GWS following him. He must be doing 10kts judging from the wake left by the powerboat he overtakes. That can really get a person interested in surf ski kayaks. I kinda like surf and skiing so anything with both words in it must be pretty cool, huh? Now, if I thought I could actually stay upright on one.....
