Hanko Sea Kayak Gathering, August 21-23 2009, Finland Hanko Sea Kayak Gathering welcomes you between 21.-23. August 2009 to the second Finnish sea kayaking meeting. Hanko is the most southern peninsula of Finland and offers lovely waters for the day trips of HSKG. There will be camping on the beach, lots of lectures, workshops on the water and paddling tours. All sea kayakers are welcome. Programme: there will be some foreign instuctors (two from UK and one frome Sweden) and many Finnish trip leaders and instructors. Most of the programme is included in the registration fee. The programme lives, so when one trip is pre-booked full we will try to organise another one. Bring your tent. The accommodation is in your own tent and you will need to organise that by yourself. The temperatures are warm Finnish summer temperatures (15-22 degrees Celcius), rain can happen. The water is probably 18 degrees, but depending on conditions it might also be cooler. This is an outdoor happening, so you will also need warm clothing and rain gear. The area is shown on the webpage pictures. Kayaks: most will bring their own kayak, but you might also rent one. Check that before registrating. The languages are mainly Finnish and Swedish, but almost everyone can English, so attending will be easy for English speakers. Saturday Dinner: You can join the dinner party - book when registrating. Almost everyone took part last year and it was great. You'll find the information and programme on the web on "HSKG09". Registration fee is 70 euro including three lectures/workshops/guided trips. The dinner is 20 euros, and attending foreign instructors4 workshop costs an additional 20 euros.
