Pain between the shoulder blades may have nothing to do with your stroke, and may be due to weak postural muscles that are supporting your up right torso for a long paddle. Commonly these are the middle and lower traps as well as the rhomboids. People often do a lot of bench presses that will antagonize the rhomboids and over time weaken them. Our culture often emphasizes flexors and and the lower and middle traps are never used, giving you a weak and burning pain between the blades. Hope this helps Richard *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
