There is a configurable option in majordomo which is designed to intercept
traffic sent to the list which should instead be going to majordomo itself.
This is a defensive measure designed to prevent routine s*bscr*be and
uns*bscr*be requests and the like from going out to the entire mailing list.
If you have used one of the keywords or strings that this particular
installation of majordomo is matching on, then, yes, your message will
be shunted aside, processed as if were commands, and of course if it
wasn't, then all those non-commands will generate a LOT of error messages.

But without looking at the config file for this list, there's no way
for me to know if everything I just said covers what you're seeing
or whether it's something else entirely.

BTW: I did notice that a long-ish message which took me considerable time
to write the other day has apparently vanished with no trace.
