Palouse Falls is only about 80 miles from me and has a State Park. I've been there (and paddled below the falls... but you have to come up from the confluence of the Palouse River and the Snake River) and farther upstream (near Colfax) but I never, in my wildest dreams, considered anyone taking that drop. There has to be a ton of rock at the base of those falls because it's all basalt (lava) in that are. Notice that he broke his paddle. I bet he won't repeat it. It was at full flood, too. Good grief.
