G'day Doug, Latest I heard was that Freya's repair (2 part epoxy resin) got her to another beach just 10km short of the next big crossing, which I think must be Anson Bay and points south. Anyway she found the patch hadn't cured fully, I guess you make your own luck and she met a couple, John and Carol Rykiert, who live near that beach. John was used to fibreglass boat repairs and it sounds as if it was fairly straightforward, although it was close to the bulkhead - seems to happen a lot along the Aussie coast what with surf and coral and big sharks - ok I'm exaggerating a bit, only know of one occasion when a shark bit into a kayak enough for a repair to be desirable. Into crocodiles - me neither (hope that isn't a double negative!)
