All nearsighted paddlers ought to once every few years stash their classes away safely while in the surf zone and try playing for awhile. I've done this a few times and found I was okay, though rock garden dogging was terrible. Simply put, how well do you see without your classes in a dangerous environment where you might loose your eyewear. I usually carry a spare set (usually a prescription from a few years past) readily accessible. I bought some gold-hinged glasses a few years ago, prescription, polarized sunglasses just for paddling. The hinges eventually seized and broke. I went back to the retailer - he said the company went out of business. Would I like to buy new glasses?
