I've done 12 hours of sustained hard paddling with an hour of rest in the middle, under "conditions" carrying gear and food for two weeks, and despite only achieving some 27 nautical miles of displacement, found plenty to see and enjoy en route ... but that was in the Queen Charlottes, where almost every stretch was fascinating.
