I must admit that when the surf is small I do find my surf boat boring, and I prefer to see what performance I can coax from the sea kayak. But when the surf is pumping the sea kayaks are in survival mode while I'm having a blast in my surf boat! I am going to try to get out for a bit tomorrow morning and see just how well the outside lean works.
