Doug included a link to his summer vacation in a post that was hidden away in a reply to one of my lake-paddling threads. It really deserves a thread all to itself if only for those of us who have known Doug for a long time and watched his two daughters grow up. It's easy for guys like me to forget that we're getting older because, other than the pain, there's nothing to track it. But when you have children everything they do reminds you - yet again - that you, too, are getting older. School supplies for the new grade, clothes that have been outgrown, cell phone bills, requests to borrow the car ("but you're only nine!!!"), etc. So when I finally clicked over to look at Doug's summer vacation and saw the photos of his two daughters I was reminded that I'm getting older (thanks, Doug) and I thought I'd make sure that the rest of you got the hint, too. Besides, it makes a swell counterpoint to the usual Doug Lloyd adventures. Sometimes it's nice to know that legends are human, too. :) http://www.westcoastpaddler.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=3208 Craig Jungers Moses Lake, WA www.nwpaddling.net *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
