[Paddlewise] Paddlers House Burned Down

So,

A good friend's house burned down on Tybee. Dan Lockwood is a retired  
professor, an avid paddler having completed five Everglades Challenges  
and is one of us. He and his two boys are presently staying at my place.

I have asked my paddling club to donate a $250 gift card to get his  
family some basics for the short term. On that note we have a very  
strong, resourceful group on Paddlewise. I would really like your  
ideas on how to get him going again. Red Cross comes to mind but I  
dont know how to get started.  Back channel response might be best  
since this is off topic and I don't want to clutter the list.

Here he is volunteering at the Tybee Surf Jam as the event timer. He  
is an eternally optimistic man who is temporarily overwhelmed. I would  
like to help keep him optimistic.
