[Paddlewise] Fire Followup

I spoke to John Lockwood, owner of Pygmy Boats, about donating a kayak  
kit to Dan. He immediately and graciously accepted with the caveat  
that Dan first have a new place to live and that he be willing to  
build the boat. I agreed this was a good plan and that it would give  
Dan a strong incentive to move forward. This whole thing has been very  
rough on him. Very rough.

When I informed Dan of this he became very animated and more his old  
self.  I suggested to Dan that his son could help in the build and  
that it might provide a way for the two to feel better about what had  
happened. He agreed that it couldn't happen without first finding a  
place to live and that both of his young sons should help in the build.

Its wonderful how generous the paddling community has been in helping  
to mitigate Dan's troubles.
