[Paddlewise] on water digital cameras

I have an optio w10 camera that works quite well for still pics while
kayaking. But I'm thinking of purchasing something that might shoot better
video clips.

I've looked at the "Hero" on line but must say I was not impressed with the HD
wide angle clips I've seen to date. I also didn't think much of the choppy
frame to frame transition. Can't recall if that was at 30 frames per second
or 60. I certainly would not use the helmet mount unless I wanted to give
viewers vertigo. I'm thinking I would like to mount something to an elevated
post that I would either mount fore or aft of the cockpit.

I want to use the camera in some local tide races, surf and dynamic water
environments - lots of rough water, big waves, to catch the drama of these
conditions.

Any suggestions would be most welcomed. Sorry if I'm revisiting a thread that
most likely has already appeared, but the way technology jumps ahead any
thread a year old might no longer be pertinent.
