The latest information on the 2010 West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium (WCSKS), normally held in September, is that it will not be happening this year. This comes from two members of TAKS, the sponsoring organization. No one seems to know if it will revive in 2011 but my experience with such things is that once they stop they stay stopped. I sure hope I'm proven wrong on this; at least this time. Also no Tacoma kayak symposium (usually held in the summer). I'm thinking about holding my own kayak symposium at Port Townsend anyway. It could be even more fun as there are lots of places to paddle in that area and I've only barely scratched the surface. And the campgrounds at Fort Warden State Park make an excellent home base.
