The blog-of-blogs, www.paddlingplanet.com, is a must-read for kayakers;
especially those who, like me, are winter-bound. Even if you just like
pretty pictures. Paddling Planet is a compendium of blogs whose editors
request inclusion. Rene Seindal - who runs a kayak tour business in Venice,
Italy - is the editor and the premise is brilliant. Paddling Planet has a
bot that checks the registered blogs (over 50 now) for new entries and then
simply copies the posting photographs and all and presents it in one long
web page. This makes it remarkably easy to keep up with kayakers all over
the world. Blogs from the USA are well represented but so is the UK, Norway,
Canada, and other geographic areas.

What I like to do is just sit on the sofa and scroll through reading quickly
through the entries. Sometimes the photographs tempt me into translating the
writing (not all are in English) if I don't read the language but often just
the photos are enough all by themselves. If the article is especially
interesting I just click on the heading and my browser opens a window to the
original blog.

Since I entered my own blog, www.nwkayaking.net, my reader count has bone up
300% and climbs more every month. I am just egocentric enough to believe
that sometimes I actually write something useful and Paddling Planet puts
that out for everyone else to read. Of course, it puts out all my banal
crapola, too. Oh well.

If you have a blog - even if it's entirely devoted to your local area - that
is mostly devoted to paddle sports please register yours with Rene so I can
enjoy it.

The list of registered blogs are lined up in a right sidebar. It's amazing
how many there are. And how good they are!!!

I found the site a couple of weeks ago and love it. I scan it once or twice
a day and always find something interesting to read. It has quickly become
one of my favorite sites.
My personal site is more about local weather instead kayaking, since I am so
new to the yak way of life, but once it gets enough kayak content, I'll
submit it.

I second the thought that everybody with a kayak related site submits it so
we can see your content!

Oh and first post to the list. Nice to meet you all.
