Hi, Of course my subject line is obvious, as *everyone* needs a boat(s) and paddle(s), naturally! :) This, however, is a special request that I'm just "putting out there" to see what might happen. I'm really into recycling, and as one aspect of recycling, "freecycling" as well, so I monitor various freecycle email lists. Today, someone in the Seattle area posted a "wanted" message for a kayak (sea kayak). I contacted her just to see what her situation was, and what she had in mind. I'd very much like to see if I can help her acquire a boat, paddle, and some other bits of gear to get her started. She's 5'8", and 185 lbs. (more athletic than not). She'll start on fresh/flat water (lives on Lake Washington), and would eventually like to paddle saltwater as well, for whale watching, etc. Exercise is something she's looking for right now, but has knee issues, so running/cycling, etc. are difficult for her. If anyone in the Seattle or surrounding area has an old boat and/or paddle in decent shape that might fit her, and be suitable for her paddling goals, *and* would feel okay about donating rather than selling, please let me know, and perhaps something can happen for her.
