Steve Cramer asked: >>>>Anybody know anything about this boat?<<<< Originally it was the Cortez Comp in 2001 by 2003 called the 17.5. It is composite construction, 20.25" wide and I thought very tippy, the cockpit is 33" long by 16.5" wide. It turned with a lean about average for a kayak but it didn't track that well. The rudder slowed down my spin in place with a lean time by 4 seconds to 28 seconds for a 360. it took me 28 seconds to spin it in place level which is quite a bit slower than average (but only a bit slow for a 17.5' long kayak). It had a rudder and was one of the few kayaks I could lean turn 1 second faster with the rudder than without. 4/03website--bow vol. 22.5 gal., stern vol. 39.6 gal. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
