CLC sells paddle joints (aka ferrules).

I've also made one for a Greenland paddle out of brass tubing (either 1 1/4
or 1 1/2 depending on the diameter of paddle shaft from Lowes plumbing
department).  I had to make mine since my loom was oval rather than round.
