I'm not very good at reporting crimes. Here is more detail:

The trailer was stolen from a suburb north of chicago - it is Buffalo
Grove. The whole trailer was taken with all the gear - four MSR
Whisperlite stoves, 15 sleeping bags, 15 Z-rest sleeping pads full
length, 6 tents, most of which were Kelty brand. and on and on No food
had been packed yet. I was the only one who brings paddling stuff,
everything is rented in Florida. No boats were lost, the trailer was a
seven foot or so long cargo trailer. No other paddling stuff besides
mine was in the trailer.

Jim.... sorry to hear about the thefts. The trailer may be hard to sell
without someone noticing. I use a website called "www.craigz.com" which
allows you to select a geographic area and then search all the craigslist
pages within up to 300 miles (selectable) from that area. This is great for
locating hard-to-find items but is also very handy for locating specific
stolen gear. Because craigslist is such an easy way to turn stolen items
into cash the thieves use it... but because it's so obvious they like to
find obscure pages for their ads. Using craigz.com lets you search those
obscure towns as well as the obvious larger ones.

I really hope you find all that gear. I'm sure that with your connections to
paddling in that area every member of CASKA is on the lookout.
