Many of the Paddlewisers have a history of writing and then publishing on -
where else? - paddlewise. Or on their own blogs or web sites or even in
magazines and books. I stumbled across www.blurb.com which is a "vanity"
publishing house (you pay them to print your book) but not just a vanity
house. Blurb allows you to virtually print your book and then your friends
and family can have Blurb print just one copy; their own copy. Prices aren't
all that bad either. Lots of books on kayaking, pets, kayaking and pets,
etc.

Or you can print just enough copies of your best book to get some interest..
or sell it on your web site... or give it away for Christmas presents.

I think it's a great idea.
