Craig,

It appears to me that BP is dancing. Tom Hat, Junk shot, rim shot, Boot
strap, end-of-summer labor shot etc.
How long does the Government go allowing BP to keep dancing. BP does not act
as if their collective lives absolutely depend on their successfully
shutting the well before the gulf becomes a total oil storage reservoir.

If your life depended on one shot, soon, as our in-house resident expert,
what would you do if cost and man power were no barrier? When they lowered
the first chimney over the biggest leak, and the flow was not able to go out
the top due to accumulation of methane ice(?), what happened to the oil
flow? Did it go out under the bottom edge of the tower?

Why couldn't they have an open top tower that could be first sealed at the
well head end so the flow was coming up through the tower, and then
mechanically in some way shut the top. Suppose they had one-way ports going
into the tower so that flow would continue until the gas-ice shut the top
out-port?

Surely the government can't afford to bet the house on BP being successful
before the gulf destruction is complete. They must have some fallback plan?
If NASA can go to the moon, there must be engineers out there somewhere that
can, given the all out green light, beat this disaster.

What would your FIX be--If you had ONE and OUT?

Chuck Sutherland
